The much-anticipated cabinet expansion of the BJP-led Maharashtra government will take place on December 15, Sunday, with the new ministers taking the oath of office at a ceremony in Nagpur, reported PTI citing official sources. Nishant, who lived in Palghar district, moved to the Sahara Hotel in Vile Parle three days before he hung himself on February 28. Before taking his life, the animator put a “Do not disturb” sign outside the door of his room.

After he didn’t respond to calls, hotel employees opened the door using a master key to find his body hanging from a hook. The hotel then alerted the police.

During the investigation, the police found the victim’s note on his company’s website.

The police registered a case against his wife and aunt based on a complaint lodged by Nishant’s mother, who stays in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, alleging that the two women had harassed her son, prompting him to take his own life. His wife has been charged under BNS Section 108 (abetment to suicide).

Both the accused have been arrested on rape and molestation charges. The police authorities have also informed the British High Commission about the incident. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
